The use of organic fertilizers is very important to increase food production in Bone Regency, but the obstacle faced is the high price of fertilizers because most of the ingredients are still imported and the supply is limited. Therefore, it is necessary to find alternative fertilizers whose raw materials are locally available. One of them is by making organic fertilizer by utilizing blotong waste from sugar factories and livestock manure. In this study, in addition to using rice cake as the main raw material, commercial microorganisms known as EM4 are also used which are known to accelerate the composting process and help increase the nutrients (N and P) in the fertilizer itself. In the manufacture of organic fertilizer, a comparison
of the composition of blotong and cow dung is carried out. The results of this study indicate that the composition of 5:5 is the most effective. Because in this process the nutrient content (1.77% N and 0.49% P) was obtained which was greater than the other compositions. It takes 4 weeks to reach maturity.
