The topic of this research is the analysis of the level of economic growth and economic potential of Makassar City. Location
Quotient (LQ) analysis is used to analyze potential sectors or bases in the economy of a region, Shift Share Analysis to
analyze changes in regional economic structure compared to the national economy, and Gravity Analysis (Regional
Linkages) to find out how strong the inter-linkage between cities is. Makassar with other Regencies. The results of the
location quotient analysis show that Makassar City has 12 basic sectors. The results of the shift share analysis show that
the sectors that have a positive average in Makassar City are the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries and Transportation
and Warehousing sectors, while other sectors show a negative average value which explains that the sector is growing
slowly compared to the growth of the sector which is growing slowly. the same at the provincial-South Sulawesi level. The
results of the analysis of regional linkages (gravity) show that the strength of the interaction between Makassar City and
Maros Regency is greater than the interaction strength of Makassar City and Gowa, Takalar and Pangkep Regencies.
