Abstract

Aeration is the process of dissolving oxygen in water. The main function of aeration is to increase dissolved oxygen levels
in water and release gases dissolved in water. Aerator is a tool used to carry out the aeration process. An electric wheel
aerator usually consists of a motor, a speed reduction mechanism, a paddle wheel and a float. For a more effective utilization
and application of alternative energy with consideration of utilizing alternative energy that is environmentally friendly and
aimed at minimizing the use of supply from PLN. The aerator developed in this activity is a hybrid energy system aerator
(PLTS-PLTB) with PLN as the buck up to operate the aerator. This activity begins with the design, assembly, and testing
stages. The tests carried out include testing battery charging using solar panels, testing battery charging using wind turbines,
and testing battery charging and aerator operation using a PLTS-PLTB hybrid system. The mill type aerator that was
successfully made for the hybrid system (PLTS-PLTB) uses a 200Wp solar panel, a small-scale wind turbine ista breezer
500 W and a 24 V VRLA battery to supply the load, namely a 24Vdc BLDC electric motor to drive the aerator with a
rotation of 60 rpm.
