Abstract
This study uses a comparative quantitative descriptive method. The population of this study was 684 respondents,
consisting of 301 students in engineering and 383 students in commerce. The sampling technique was done randomly
(random sampling). The sample of the study amounted to 93 respondents (engineering students: 52 respondents and
students in the field of commerce: 41 respondents). Respondents were given a questionnaire consisting of 50 items taken from the Attitude Motivation Test Battery (ATMB). Based on this research, it can be seen that the attitude motivation of students, both respondents from majors in the field of engineering and respondents from majors in the field of commerce, does not have a significant difference. The motivation of respondents to memorize chapter 30 in engineering majors is 93% high, and 7% moderate, while in the department of commerce as much as 90% high, 6% moderate, and 4% low
