Indonesia as an agrarian country has potential in the agricultural aspect. One of the agricultural products used is rice, but there is a straw waste that is generated. In this paper, the use of straw waste was performed to design and manufacture a straw press for the animal feed. The method of designing a straw press is carried out in several stages. The first stage is making a design concept. The second stage is preparing the materials and equipment that will be used. The third stage is making the components of the straw press. The fourth stage assembles the components into a functionally straw press. The design results have been obtained through a straw press with a mechanical system and it has been functioning properly. In addition, a study on construction calculations was conducted. It can be concluded that the design of the straw press has been carried out well, thus it is proven that this tool has been functioning properly to press straw into animal feed ingredients.
