Abstract

Monitoring Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) Crane remotely in PT. Pelindo (Persero) Regional 4 Makassar New Port is still not possible. In addition, information about air quality in the Electronic Room (E-Room) is still incomplete and cannot be monitored remotely. This problem can be solved by pulling RTG PLC data using a python program as well as the installation of several sensors to monitor air quality in the E-Room which will be displayed in the form of SCADA.
This study aims to make it easier for technicians and staff in the container loading and unloading service process to monitor, repair, and analyze if there are problems with the RTG to ensure that the service process runs well and safely. This system is designed to monitor RTG from within the E-Room or remotely so that the latest conditions of the RTG and the air quality inside the E-Room can be monitored from the office without plunging directly into the RTG in container yard. This research began with collecting data, designing data retrieval structures, designing SCADA programs and testing systems directly when RTG was operating.
Based on the results of tests that have been carried out, results were obtained that the system can display the latest conditions of the RTG based on data from PLC and sensors both remotely and from within the E-Room itself, although dust content data from the E-Room cannot be monitored due to the unavailability of dust sensors.
