Abstract

The aim of this research to analyze the pretreatment method of the biosilica extract from rice husk. The biosilica extract
from rice husk was used sodium hydroxide 10% and combination with hot water to results sodium silicate solution. In
addition to bending a biosilica gel by appending HCl 10% up to pH = 7. The biosilica products were analyzed by X-ray
diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The obtained results represent that SiA sample was amorphous, but SiB and SiC samples were crystalline structures. The FTIR spectra of the biosilica extract have silanol groups dan siloxane groups at the wavenumber 796 cm-1 and 1103 cm-1 respectively. This result can be proposed that rice husk from agricultural environment waste have economic value to produce biosilica
