Abstract

Diesel Power Plant is one that can overcome problems at peak loads because it can be operated quickly
and easily and can supply a large enough power, both as a main power supply and as a backup to overcome peak
loads in urban areas as a center of load . The increase in fuel prices, PT. PLN (Persero) UL-PLTD Tello
Makassar seeks to reduce fuel usage costs without reducing electricity production. PT. PLN (Persero) uses two
types of fuel namely High Speed Diesel to Marine Fuel Oil. This research focuses on the efficient use of High
Speed Diesel and Marine Fuel Oil as well as the cost of using these fuels in the operation of Diesel Power Plant at
PT. PLN (Persero) Parent Generation and Distribution of Sulawesi Implementing Unit for Tello Generation
Control, Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province. The largest thermal efficiency value of PLTD obtained on
January 20, 2018 was 40.02% with an SFC value of 0.262 l / kWh. While the thermal efficiency value of the smallest Diesel Power Plant is on January 25, 2018 at 38.62% with an SFC value of 0.267 liters / kWh. The largest total cost of using Diesel Power Plant fuel is on January 19, 2018 amounting to Rp. 181,014,222.00 with the use of Marine Fuel Oil fuel as much as Rp. 167,815,245.00 and the cost of using High Speed Diesel fuel as much as Rp. 13,198,977.00.
