Jamarang is a village located in the district of Galesong, Takalar Regency. Most of populations are farmers, gardeners,
sand miners, mountain rocks, construction workers, and fishermen. As the time changes, the life of the Jamarang
neighborhood begins to change. The use of appliance is increasing. Such appliances include refrigerators, irons, rice cookers, televisions, computers, electric pumps, and the other that use electricity as their energy source. However, the community’s understanding of the electricity is lack. It can be proven by looking at the electricity conditions of the residents in the village. A scapegoat of the fire main cause is electrical installations that are not appropriate with applicable regulation. Therefore, through PKM Program, the training for rewinding an electric motor and how to install electrical installations in Jamarang, North Galesong District, Takalar Regency is undertaken to fill the vacuum of community activities. The training provides supplies, knowledge, skills, life skills, training and workshops in the village, based on potential and local wisdom. In addition to personal development, professional development, work, and independent assistance are given to improve the living standard of people in Jamarang. The PKM activities are not optimal because it is still in Covid 19 Pandemic situation, and thus people are afraid to gather. During rewinding training, from two motors that had been rewind, it was only one that could work. For installation training Meanwhile, for installation training, an installation is carried out on a test board, another is implemented in a community house that has
been burnt down due to a short circuit. Such installation has used standard equipment, materials, and work in accordance with PUIL 2011 and SPLN.
