Abstract

Steam turbines are one of the main components of the Steam Electric Power
Plant section that serves as the initial drive that converts potential energy into
kinetic energy and then it is converted into mechanical energy in the form of
turbine shaft rotation. It is drives the generator to produces electrical energy at
the generator output.
This researcher aims to analyze turbine performance by retrieving turbine
operational data from Central Room Control (CCR) at Unit 1 of Barru 2X50 MW
Steam Electric Power Plant. This data was taken directly from the computer that
manage the operation of all electricity production processes at the Barru 2X50
MW Steam Electric Power Plant.
The results obtained were the performance of Steam Turbine Unit 1 at Barru
Steam Electric Power Plant based on average for approximately 1 week in
February 2019 while operating are 70.77% of isentropic efficiency value and
78.33% of mechanical efficiency.
