Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to increase the production capacity of the Red Fried Onion Business by applying the appropriate technology that is suitable for the needs of our partner Small to Medium Enterprise (SMEs). This is intended to respond to an increasing market. The method used was to replace the production process of the manual method by applying appropriate technology that was in accordance with the needs of partner SMEs. Mechanization in the production process that has been implemented in this activity, especially the process of cutting/slicing the raw material of red onions and oil squeeze contained in fried onion products. The results of the application of the appropriate technology increase the production capacity on average 10 times compared to the method before using the mechanization system. This activity improves the quality of production, turnover and profit of partner SMEs. Another impact is the work environment where the partner's business becomes healthier and more hygienic and the workforce employed becomes effective.
